Can I save my car from repossession if they send a payment back?

I am behind on my car note 3 months. My husband got hurt and was out of work. The finance company told me they wanted the car. I talked to them and told them I would pay 300.00 weekly until the amount past due was covered. They said do what I want but the repossession would not be taken off until the full amount was paid. I sent a payment through moneygram last friday. I recieved the payment back. What can I do not to loose my car?

Uh, that evidently means your passed due balance has not been received. Read your statement again.

The finance company is within their rights to demand that all missed payments be made, and they are not required to accept partial payments. If they are refusing partial payments, they consider you to be a problem borrower, and just want to end their dealings with you.

You need to find a way to catch up on the payments, before the car is on the hook. If they are not willing to work with you now, they will demand that the loan be totally paid off before you could get your car back.

You may call and ask to speak with a supervisor, and see if they would be willing to work something out where you provide certified funds (not a Moneygram that would require them to make a trip to collect the money at a Western Union office) via overnight delivery, but until then, your car is at risk.
